In advance of our trip to Italy I thought it might be fun to get back into drinking wine and learning through tasting. We recently bought a cabernet sauvignon made by the Medici estate winery, the "noblest" of Tuscan wines according to the sales woman who wore a straw fedora and spoke with great drama. We let it decant for an hour as per her advice, and enjoyed it with steak for Kev's birthday.
I've wanted to drink more rose recently as well, a perfectly solid category of wine that I'd ignored for a long time because, well, what grown person wants to sip a pink drink? That label, it got me, and the wine was deliciously summery and not too sweet. Sometimes, like on Sundays, you just want easy, you know?
