Long lunch: El Rey

Kev and I took a long lunch today in LES at El Rey. We'd been trying to find a good day to go for a while and today was it: his boss is away and my office was undergoing a move.

El Rey has a small menu, good coffee, and not too many seats. The big storefront windows let in the early spring sun and the bar table out front anticipates warmer days. The food took a very long time to come (35 minutes), which was somewhat stressful but understandable given it's one dude cooking on one hot plate. We got a frittata, avocado toast with pesto and soft eggs, and a grains and greens salad. Sharp seasoning and the use of pickles worked well on these dishes.
