Why do pens matter so?

And they do. And I am very particular about them. I feel more productive with a good pen in my hand. At the very least I am neater.

On the subject of clutter, I complained to my mom that we have countless cans and cups stuffed with pens all over the house and that they are not charming. She told me to throw them out as I wish, but that I shouldn't need to buy any more pens.

I said "okay" and thought "impossible."
