Thoughts on Chicago?
It seemed to be a comic book city, equal parts steel and shadows. A lot of water, a lot of glass, and almost as many spiders as people. Lakefront property is also a strange notion. It just isn't the same as an ocean.
The dining was spectacular, but not something I could grow accustomed to. If I lived there I'd be twenty pounds heavier, and I'd never catch the Yankees game since dinners are 3+ hour affairs.
Birth place of the skyscraper, something new I learned. I was in Barcelona in 2008 when I remarked aloud that the word "skyscraper" was so beautiful and evocative. Anyways, antennae do not count as height in my book.
The public transportation was exceedingly easy, but I'm not certain a non New Yorker would agree. The crosswalks, however, were very confusing.
